Hi all,
How essential is dormancy for turion forming aquatic Utricularia?
I have some U. australis growing in an unheated tank indoors.
However, the water temperature does not drop low enough for the
plants to form turions. Is turion formation necessary for the health
of the plant or can aquatic Utrics skip dormancy relatively
unaffected. I have a few strands of it growing outside in a small
container which have already started to produce turions. Will it be
necessary to move the rest of the plants outside for the Winter in
order for them to survive or can I leave them growing inside?
Thanks in advance.
Andrew
