Hi Betsi,
I used to run a dehumidifier in my house, too. I
tried the water from time to time with no horrifying
results. However, I stopped running the dehumidifier
because I seemed to think it was just a waste of
electricity. The house never seemed any less
humid!!!!
Strangely, the water from the dehumidifier tub seemed
very cold!

I don't think that the dehumidified water would be the
purest water though. You will have to change your
filter pretty often to be sure impurities from the
air, or even stagnation in the tub wouldn't harm your
plants.

Just some thoughts from someone else who thought
dehumidified water would be great to recycle.
