I have seen cultivated Puya catch domestic chickens here in NZ.
The chicken had no hope of escaping without help.
While I doubt that these plants are carnivorous thier trapping function may
give them a secondary benefit from those creatures that would decompose the
chicken and their droppings much like the assassin bugs do for Roridula.
