The naming for centipedes and millipedes are "hundred feed" and "million
feet", repetitively. There aren't that many, of course. Millipedes are
round and benign, while centipedes will sting the tar out of you. I
believe centipedes are carnivores, while millipedes feed as you
described. VFTs only eat about 3 times a year and will do just fine
with no food. Just an FYI. A good insecticide is Pyrethrum (sp?). It
is nontoxic to everything but insects. The dosage depends on the bottle.
