Chuck,
I have to agree with Joe on this. I'm in Salt Lake City and our humidity
regularly drops into the teens during the summer. I'm growing Sarrs in my
outdoor bog and this year I've added D. intermedia and some VFTs, and for
the most part they all seem to be doing well. This summer has been
especially harsh on the plants with very hot, dry winds and little rainfall,
and I've had a few losses, but I think that was mainly caused by
transplanting them from under lights to the bog a bit late in the spring.
The bog is up against the house (under a rain gutter downspout) and somewhat
buffered from the winds. Also, it's surrounded with lawn and garden, which
I try to water regularly in the evening and which I imagine raises the
overnight humidity. Rather than a misting system I'd recommend rigging
something to keep the area around the bog moist, especially where you're
using tap water, but even that is probably unnecessary. Good growing.

on getting pictures of the bog posted.
