This 'oomycete' can be successfully controlled by fungicides such as
Aliette. I think Domain is also effective, but I could be wrong. This used
to be a 'fungus' but not any more. It seems to be more closely related to
brown algae. In general, improving draining of media and soil is
recommended, but for plants like Sarracenia, it would be difficult. I would
be careful about wounding plants, especially rhizome.
