I've been trying something similar here, first with rose & acacia
branches & now with those sharp, round toothpicks. Cacti might well
be better looking. Are there any small, spiny, ones that could
possibly survive in the same pot with Sarracenia?

I'm responding to your message mostly because it applies to my
squirrel problem, but also to test my new sig file hack to add that
