Subject: CP Bog Garden

I am interested in building a bog garden but I have a few questions. I live
in New Jersey and am interested in planting many Sarracenia in the bog i.e.
S. flava, S. alata, S. minor etc. Will these survive the winter if the bog
is in the ground? Secondly, can I fill the bog with just peat or does it
need to be mixed with sand first? If so, is coarse carpenter's sand OK? Can
live Sphagnum be placed on top of this mixture and be expected to grow?
