Byblis's "..lifeforce vampirism", and your suspicions
"..that butterworts and sundews may lure their prey by
hypnotic telepathy",

I can spare you long hours of research and assure you
that that is not the case. I am certain beyond any
doubt because my S. leucopyllas told me so. Of,
course that may just be a simple case of envy on their
part, themselves lacking telepathic powers and only
having mouths.
