Hi,
First, thanks Phil for the seed harvesting tips. I usually resort to
thumb-and-forefinger when I want to kick-start seeding around the mother
plant.
Does anyone know of any sources for Utricularia native to the NE U.S?
I'm especially looking for aquatics. And, most of all, U. macrorhiza.
Are there any real differences between local strains of, say, U.
gibba, U. inflata, U. purpurea, and U. macrorhiza from different areas of
Norh America? Because all but U. macrorhiza can be easily mail-ordered as
far as I know.
And is a turion-producing dormancy absolutely necessary, or can they
be babied through the first winter in aquaria?
Thanks for any info,
Hans Johnson
