Miguel,
My own experience with Ping lusitanica is that it staggers its germination
over several years. I've also found that, as per Ping alpina, that if you sit
it out in the rain it germinates better (is there a chemical,similar to
alpina, that needs washing away before germination can take place?).
I've never really found that stratification helps
