I've grown D. both ways, and can't say enough good things about
        Slack-potting.  Basically, you don't have to worry about over
        or under watering.  You just put the slack potted plant in a
        water tray with the rest of the stuff.  But to each their own.

        Mine was exposed to, I think, temps between 45-50 F. temps last year,
        outdoors in my plastic covered wire cage.  It may have gotten down
        to about 40, but I didn't have a good therm. then.
