Yes, it is a little bit unusual to call back-crosses (e.g.
_N.(a.*r.)*(a.*r.)_) the same as the parent. But the genetic rationale
behind this may be that if the genes of two species are mixed, it is not
important how many times this is repeated. Thus, nomenclaturally parent
and hybrid are equivalent in this case as absurd as this might seem.
