This past weekend my D. madagascariensis (grown from seed from the seed
bank) had fully opened flowers. These flowers matched exactly the close-up
photo of the D. madagascariensis flower in Kondo's book. The leaves look
identical too but my plants grow as rosettes rather than caulescent.
I don't think this means anything - another S.A. plant (D. cistiflora)
that I remember Michael and Barry talking about a few years ago takes
a few years before it starts growing vertically.
