Some old email (above) discussed this hybrid, which I have a
clone of from Don. My plant is still small, but has produced
what I believe is a pitcher representative of the plant I have.
This weekend I and Thomas Johnson both looked at it and came to
the same con- clusino: it's definately not x hookeriana. One
could argue about the shape of the pitcher, but not about the
distinct lack of a wide pitcher lip which typifies both the
hybrid and its' parent N. ampullaria. My plant looks like it
may have 1/4 N. rafflesiana. However the pitcher shape is
reminiscent of N. khasiana or N. (x?) intermedia.
This clone should be renamed to reflect it's uncertain parentage,
don't people think? I'd like to change my list to reflect that I
don't have x. hookeriana. Perhaps we should give it a reference
name an number?
Too bad I missed out on buying the N. x hookeriana at the BCPS mtg.
this weekend....
