Pietropaolo lists N. hirsuta as a highland type. I'm growing mine
in a terrarium in an unheated room with northern exposure. It is growing
rapidly and pitchering well.

I'm giving it a 16 hour photoperiod with two Gro-Lux fluorescents at
about 12". The lamps heat things up a little, and probably keep daytime
temps around 75-80 degrees. At night, temps dip to around 50 degrees.

I have been keeping the lid ajar to help ventilation, but Curtis Tom
suggested shutting the lid to raise the humidity. I'm going to try
this as a compromise for the lowland types in the same box.

So far N. hirsuta seems to be a vigorous, robust plant. I would guess
that you could grow it in a wide range of environments.
