Don,
_N.tomoriana_ is described and pictured by Danser in his standard work on
_Nepenthes_ . The pitchers are not very spectacular, the inflorescence is
paniculate. The species is interesting because of its limited range in Cele-
bes (Sulawesi). It is a lowland species, and it grows together with _N.
tentaculata_ and the very closely allied _N.hamata_ (note correct sp.!
_Nepenthes_ is *female*). Many individuals have non-hamate peristome ribs
on young pitchers and typical "claws" in fully developed ones.
_N.klossii_ is closely related to _N.maxima_. It is distinguished from this
species by a bulge at the dorsal side of the pichers (this may be the "hood")
and by the whole plant being more densely hairy. I must append, however that
especially _N.maxima_ is extremely variable (to that extent that I cannot
accept _N.eymai_=_N.infundibuliformis_ to be specifically distinct from it).
Many of the above mentioned information was obtained through the intense
examination by Joachim Nerz and Andreas Wistuba, who were amazingly active
in the field over the past years. Communication of their results is herewith
acknowledged thankfully.
Kind regards
Jan
