Genlisea propagation note.

I have a couple of small genlisea plants I grew from
seed. Two have recently put up flower stalks. A
couple of weeks ago I accidentally uprooted one of
the stalks and part of the plant. I replanted the
stalk hoping it wouldn't kill the plant. I grow them
in a high water table, in a small pot under a zip lock
baggie under grow lights. Last night I was looking
at the pot and I noticed that 3 bracts on the stalk
had generated downward pointing roots, and the stalk
had some very small leaves in the soil at the base.
I carefully snipped off the stalk and planted the
rooted bracts. We'll see if they root and produce
3 new plants. If you have spare genlisea you might
try this. I initially uprooted the plant by knocking
over the stalk, not by pulling it up.
