I would like to introduce myself to the list. I am a PhD
student in Latin American history at Tulane University
and a member of the history faculty at Xavier University
of Louisiana.

Years ago I studied botany at the University of Miami
under Floyd Shuttleworth and Monroe Birdsey. I developed
an abiding love for tropical plants. I've collected
in Panama, Surinam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba and many of the
Caribbean Islands.

In New Orleans, I collect mainly gingers and aroids, but
have recently acquired two species of Nepenthes. Most of
my experience with cp's has been photographing them in situ.
However, my success with Nepenthes has whetted my apetite
for more.
