Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but there is a description of
a field trip to Mount Kinabalu in Gordon Cheer's "A Guide to Carnivorous
Plants of the World", amongst other trips he has been on searching for CPs.

For the "confused" writer who was wondering what a Moke was, perhaps this brief
description will help. The Moke (or Mini Moke) was a jeep-like vehicle based
on the mechanical components of the Austin/Morris/Leyland/BMC Mini (or
Mini Minor, as it was once called) - I assume that most people have heard of
this successful little car... Thus, the Moke is a small (tiny perhaps) front
wheel drive "convertible" with a "canvas" roof and side-panels, a couple of
seats (some had a rear bench seat too), a flat windscreen and little else...
It could be the considered the ultimate in open-air touring - ignoring the
windscreen and seat, you are exposed to the elements from the shins up (not
like the pretend convertibles with their wind-up windows and neck-high metal
surrounds). The "Moking is a health hazard" is a pun on an old anti-tobacco
slogan - and rather appropriate given the amount of projection a Moke provides
to it's occupants (or should that be "riders"?)... It's a great fun vehicle
for the warmer months.
