Thinking that the "---" is excessively ugly, I've been trying to
consistently use double quotes for ad-hoc descriptive phrases, and
single quotes for official cultivar names.

Whether it is academically correct or not, there is a definite need
for things like:

Drosera arturi "High plains victoria"
Nepenthes alata (female)
Utricularia calycifida "pink flower"
Utricularia calycifida "spotted flower"
Sarracenia psittacina "Oke Giant"

because this extra information is necessary to adequately
describe plants to other collectors.

In an ideal world, I'd like to have a pedigree back to the
original collection data for all my plants. :-).
