I have just signed onto this list, and as the welcome message suggests, am
sending a brief background.
To start, I heard about this list via the orchids list. I have always been
fascinated by the carnivorous plants, and thought that I would like to sign
up and lurk for bit.
I have two plants, one a Drosera species, and the other a pitcher plant of
some type. They both grow under lights with my orchids. The environment is
cool (at least in orchid terms: I strive for nights below 55F, hard to do
in the summer, and below 80F during the day) and humid, usually 90+%. The
plants are thriving, and do yeoman duty keeping fungus gnats in check.
As opportunity arises, I'll probably add a few more to the collection. I
hope these aren't as addictive as orchids seem to be.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions.
