I just got off the phone with my friend who offered to
act as the interpreter should I decide to phone Uwe. She asked
me where Uwe lived, and unfortunately I lost the address I obtained
through the group. She said that the German equivalent of zip codes
changed all over that country as of July 1. Since the order was
sent at about that time, there is more than a slight possibility
that Uwe did not receive it.
It doesn't hurt to phone the guy and ask if he received
the order. I don't mind spending a few bucks to do it. Tis
Saturday sounds good--they're six hours ahead of EDT and my
work schedule won't allow me to get together with my friend for
a phone call until this Saturday morning. I can also ask if he
has a FAX number. In the event he didn't receive the order then
it is a simple matter to FAX it to him right away. If he did
receive it, then a phone call will either 1) spark some action
or 2) reveal that we will have to try elsewhere.

phone, and my friend will act as an excellent stress filter should
I lose it anyway :).
