It has been posted here that N. Rajah has the largest pitchers. I'd
like to know, more specifically, what is meant by "largest". Does
it mean the largest enclosed volume? Using Kurata's book Nepenthes
of Mount Kinabalu as a reference, the form of the N. Rajah pitchers
appears to be ovate. The photograph of a N. Rajah pitcher held by
someone's hand indicates a rough size scale, although this particular
specimen doesn't have to be one of the largest (I grant). I've
seen other Nepenthes with pitchers of cylindrical form which are
over a foot tall and four inches in diameter.
