Hello Family back from the convention and ready to go.
David Wong called last night and talked to me about the breakin. verry
little was left behind. only the nepenthies that were too large to move
werre left behind. david wants to thank every one for their generous
offers of support. he sounds extremly overwhelmed and as though it is
almost too much.
many of the local gang appear to be switching to P.O. Boxes as a
security measure. I've even been giving it some serious thaught.
last winter i had four N. khasiana seedlings survive in my green house
my temprature control system doesn't turn the heat on untill the temp
reaches aprox. 34 deg F. that is to say four out of four.
also among the other residents is my origional D. adelae clone. it has
been there sence the big freeze in the winter of 90-91 when my green
house froze @ about 18 deg. F. for about as many houres. every winter
the above ground portion dies off and every spring it sproutes new
again.
the khasiana seedlings did better in the winter than the summer (i think
i lost one)
more later krs
ps David has bought a modem and will join us here as soon as he figures
the thing out. hopefully it wont take him as long as it took me ( about
two months) krs
