Steve,
_T.peltatum_ is the only species of the genus, and one of the 3 known species
of the Dioncophyllaceae. They all live in tropical Western Africa. They all do
not have (English) common names, I'm afraid. Its carnivory (it is carnivorous
only in certain stages of development; the plant is a climber by means of hooks
at the leaf tip: thence the name Dioncophyllaceae, from Greek, the family of
plants with two hooks on their leaves) was discovered in the late 70's, proteo-
lytic capacities were demonstrated by a primitive hydrolysis test as far as I
remember. So it is a part-time full-member carnivore.
The plant is not yet under permanent cultivation as far as I'm informed.
Kind regards
Jan
