My name is David Britt. I have had various CP's for some years, though
I have had some difficulty in keeping a continuous collection because
of moving from place to place at times. I recently attended the
San Francisco Bay Area CP Society meeting, and found out about this
group from their newsletter. I am interesting in expanding my small
collection, both with indoor terrarium plants and with plants grown
in my outdoor bog. Any input into growing plants outdoors in
the California Central Valley would be appreciated.
I have more than a passing interest in plants scientifically.
I am a chemistry professor at the University of California, Davis,
and my research interests are in the area of plant photosynthesis,
particularly in how metals function as catalytic centers in
photosynthesis. My wife Anne has some interest in the CP's as well.
She is in the botany department at UCD, and she studies how plants
respond to DNA damage caused by UV irradiation.
