Hi Anders,
There are a few people in the Washington, DC area who
grow various cp's. John Hummer, who's already been mentioned,
is one and Arlington, VA is right across the Potomac River
from NW Washington, DC (a 20 minute drive depending on
where you start in the city). A few of us live in the
Maryland suburbs. I can gather only the location of
each grower's employer, since most netters post from
their employer's office. Locations of residences can be
quite scattered.
Since it's getting much cooler here, most growers
will have taken their tropical species inside their homes.
I imagine that any Sarraceniae grown outside would be going
dormant now, as would Dionaea and the North American
Droserae.
I have all my cp's except Dionaea inside my home.
That includes my Drosera collection, a very small Cephalotus,
two Utrics and several Nepenthes. The Nepenthes aren't
easy to see, because they're in clear plastic trashbags
under lights. It's not the best presentation, but the
plants love it and respond by growing and pitchering
quite nicely.
Send me an e-mail so that we can arrange
a possible meeting.
Perry
