Don,
You listed some interesting and stimulating suggestions
for obtaining more Nepenthes, either by cuttings or seeds. When
you mentioned that seed pods should be ripe around now, were you
suggesting that I contact the Kinabalu Park officials again
through my friend at the Malaysian Embassy? Somehow I don't
think that their response will be any different from the first
one. So, what action is suggested by the fact that the seed
pods should be ripe around now?

I will be happy to call the St. Louis Botanical Gardens,
or have Bill McLaughlin at the National Botanical Gardens give
them a call. In fact, Bill might know more about what kinds of
plants are at Longwood and St. Louis. By the way, is the
St. Louis Botanical Garden the same as the Missouri Botanical
Garden? Maybe it's a dumb question, but I don't know the answer.
Anyway, I'd like to know who to contact, rather than make a
cold call. If you or anyone else on the net have suggestions
in this regard, I'd be happy to receive them. And, I'm
happy to make whatever phone calls are necessary to spread
more plant material around.
