Hello all,

Well, I guess I can't hang around in the background any more. I have
graduated from college and found a job in New York City as a computer
consultant. We have one PSILINK account for the entire company that
only a few other people use. Right now I'm the only one using it.
Probably stay that way for a couple months.

Since moving to the city I've had to cut back my collection
significantly and now only have a few interesting species. I'll make an
updated growing list and post it one of these days.

One species I do have now is H. minor. I got the thing from Ron Gagliardo
(sp?) at Hungry Plants for $25. It was propigated from tissue culture and
is still pretty small. I'm growing it in a 30 gallon terrarium under 4
26-watt compact flourescent bulbs. I've also rigged it so that an ultrasonic
humidifier sprays the terrarium a few times during the day. The temps stay
around 78 F mostly, dipping lower at night into the upper 60's. However,
for a couple of hours during the day, the terrarium gets DIRECT sun and the
temps spike to the 90's.

The Heliamphora seems to tolerate these conditions and has been putting out
a trap every month now. The traps have a red ridge in the back,
probably due to the sunlight.

Sorry to keep droning on about my plant, but it's my first Heliamphora and
I'm excited that it's doing well ( so far ).

My current address and all that is:

Davin Stewart
51 Garden St. Apt 906
Hoboken NJ 07030
(201) 659 - 4151

p.s. Thanks for the note Gordon. I was going to give you a call pretty soon
to see when you were going to send the plants since it's starting to
get too cold to mail them. Go ahead and send them over. I'll be waiting
with baited breath.

p.p.s. Rick, did you get my check? I finally got off my butt and sent a check
for that ancient Allen Lowrie order that I went in on with you. Hope
you got it. I couldn't remember the exact amount, so I hope that covers it.
Sorry for the wait.
