I got the new CPN today. Here's a synopsis:

Cover photo: _Nepenthes eymai_. It is said _N. infundibuliformis_ is
the preferred name. I thought _N. eymai_ was correct.

Back photo: _Drosera felix_. A rosette Drosera with a single-flowered scape.

News and Views:
Two B&W photos of Sarracenia floating in ponds. There's a 'barge' of
Sarracenia plants, held afloat by barrels. Looks 'way cool'.

Articles:
'Noteworthy _Sarracenia_ Collections' by Phil Sheridan and Bill Scholl.
Discusses some anthocyanin-free forms of _Sarracenia_. Four color photos.

'Growing Carnivorous Plants in the Czech Republic' by Zdenek Zacek.
Discusses growing several CP species. Author includes original line drawings
of the plants.

'_Nepenthes pervillei_ Travel Report ...' by S. Hartmeyer.
Long article about hiking through rain forests and climbing mountains
(not always successfully) to see Nepenthes. Author sees 20 cm spiders,
20 cm brown slugs, and 30 cm millipedes!

'Notes on Some _Darlingtonia californica_' by P. Sheridan and B. Scholl.
Observations of _Darlingtonia_ growing in nature in various locations. Four
nice color photos.

'ICPS Informal Gathering' by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Taylor.
Things that went on during a CP get-together. Photo of participants includes
our Rob Maharajh, who may have been abducted by aliens about a year ago. :-)

Literature Review:
Published article by Schnell validates the name _S. purpurea (L) ssp. venosa
(Raf) (Wherry) var. burkii (Schnell)_. [Need a yardstick to fit that name
on a label] -- Rhodera 95:6-10.

Published article by Martin Cheek validates some hybrid _Drosera_ names:
_D. x nagamotoi_, _D. x californica_, and _D. x badgerupii_ -- The Kew
Magazine 10:138-144.

James Reveal's article in Phytologia 74:180-184 attempts to rename the
two subspecies of _S. purpurea_ as 'var. terrae-novae' and 'var. purpurea'.

_U. beaugleholei_ is a new species described by R.J. Gassin in Muelleria
8:37-42.
