Yes, there has been some experimenting around with various antibiotics. The
result was, however, not at all satisfactory. The method recommended is
proper disinfection of the material. As a rule, once there is a fungal
infection, antibiotics won't be too effective. If the cultures are
"clean" anyway, antibiotics are of no benefit (even worse: you will
realize infections later than without antibiotics).
