If they are covered with snow now, you should at least wait until it has
been melted. In subarctic climate (Finland), days are too short in the
winter for normal growth, I fear. However, you can of course dig it up in
order to check if the hibernacula are still intact (and not consumed by
some hungry carnivoroherbivorous creature), and then cover it with snow
again. Sometimes you can observe an increase in size during the "resting"
period.
