Earl,
If you're interested in skiing during your trip to the northwest, now is a
good time to do it. I went skiing at Whistler Mountain yesterday where they
have had 7 feet of snow over the last week. Whistler/Blackcomb is about 1 1/2
hrs north of Vancouver and easily accessable by bus or train. Blackcomb
Mountain has a never - ever package with lifts, lessons and rentals for
something like $25. There are also 3 ski hills across the harbour from downtown
Vancouver. The closest one is only 15 - 20 minutes away and is served by public
transit and all of them have night skiing.
BTW even though the mountains have had a lot of snow there hasn't been any in
Vancouver - its in the fifties and alot of the spring flowers are blooming.
