No, the humans probably didn't. But what about the possibility that
the Madagascar insects had a profoundly different preference in plants
than the insects in Indonesia? It seems that if a bug prefers certain
kinds of nectar, colors, shapes, etc. that it could exert as much
influence on the plant as human breeders.
