This plant goes completely dormant in the winter. I just
leave mine outside and it gets rained on but does fine, but
my temps seldom get down to freezing. In the spring the
plant will send up flower stalks and/or new leaves. Give
it lots of water and sun during the growing season and it
will take care of itself. Don't try dividing it until it's
got a couple of growth points.
