Peat moss alternatives

I recently read, in a British cp publication, about the use of coconut
husk fibers in place of sphagnum peat moss. The author of the article
had high praise for the medium and pointed out the environmental
advantages of using this over sphagnum peat moss. Unfortunately I
didn't get a copy of the borrowed newsletter. Is anybody on the net
familiar with this product? Has anyone tried it?
