I think it is difficult to suggest a general purpose mix although
the ones you mentioned may suit well for most species. Some species
(P. alpina / vallisnerifolia some Nepenthes do not like peat at all.)

Especially pinguicula. I have not had any reasonable success with peat/sand
mixtures. Try to get vermiculite. Mine grow very well in pure vermiculite.

My standard mixture is peat/perlite (Pekka: still some peat left ?) for almost
everything except Pinguicula and Nepenthes. Nepenthes do well in orchid mixtures
with extra perlite/vermiculite.

BTW: I have seen Sarracenia, Nepenthes and Pinguicula in a flower shop
in Bologna on Sunday. Quite big ones. Sorry did not ask for prices.
