I remember seeing a Nepenthes plant in the greenhouse at
CSU Northridge. I suspect they were feeding it good things
for its roots because it was in a hanging pot, in a humid,
moderately bright greenhouse, and it had long leaves and
long pendulous tendrils trailing from the tips of
the leaves. However, it had no pitchers on the
tendrils. If you root feed Nepenthes too well, they just don't
make good pitcher production.
