First of all, let me introduced myself. My name is Isao Takai. I am 32 years
old. It is 20 years since I first grew carnivorous plants. It takes a long
time for me to write a letter in English.
I live in Kazo City, Saitama-Pref, Japan. It takes 15 minutes by car to
get to the habitat of Aldrovanda vesiculosa. It takes 2 or 3 hours by car and
1 hour on foot to get to the habitat of Pinguicula vulgaris v.macroceras,Mt.
Akagi.It takes 3 or 4 hours by car and 1 hour on foot to get to the habitat of
Pinguicula ramosa,Mt.Nantai. It takes 3 or 4 hours by car and 2 hours on foot
to get to the habitat of Drosera anglica,Oze. It takes 4 hours by car to get t
o
the habitat of Drosera peltata ,rotundiforia ,spathulata and some Utricularias
,
Shizuoka-Pref.
I would like to know about the state of all the world CP habitats. If you have
some photos of the habitats in your neighborhood. I would really like to have
photos. I have some photos of the habitat ,Pinguicula ramosa ,Pinguicula
vulgaris v.macroceras ,Drosera anglica(Mt.Taisetsu). Let's exchange photos wit
h
each other by air mail.
I would like to know a physical characteristic of true Sarracenia purpurea
subsp.venosa 'Luis Burke'. I have some variety of S.purpurea subsp.venosa
'Luis Burke'(?). Their common characteristic:
Flower: Petal's color is pink ,Umbrella of Style's color is white or white
with pink flash.
Leaves: thick and short. Color is very purplish red ,some individuals has no
green.
But these leaves dosenot look like Luis Burke's leaves that is introduced in
Japan lately.
