It's monsoon season here. Suddenly my power went down, so no thesis writing.
I went outside, a huge storm came through dropping big hail. Then the wind
picked up, part of the roof of the department got stripped off, and as I
watched the branches of a palo verde tree (_Cercidium microphyllum_) got
stripped off---and they're about 30 cm in diameter!
Man, if this thing hit my greenhouse I'm gonna have a lot more than a few
thrips to worry about. I'm gonna have to find the greenhouse!
Of course, originally being a physicist, I know the dangers of lightning
blasts, but it was just so neat! Now I am soaked.
