Darlingtonias have a wonderful apricot-like scent ! I've spent the better
part of three summers studying them in their natural habitat and despite my
extended field observations I've never seen more than a couple insects (ie
pollinators) attracted to such a scent-sational flower. Go figure. Anybody
got any clues ?
