My N.mirabilis has outgrown its container and is heading for the household
pets. I need to whack this thing back, but I hate to just throw away the
cuttings. Has anyone out there air layered these things sucessfully?

More specifically:

How should you injure the plant?
I have used several techniques on other vine type plants including:
a) taking copper wire and twisting it very tight around the plant
b) nicking the plant in two places (in close proximity)
c) slitting the plant and sticking a tooth pick or something to prevent
closure. Has anyone had more success with one of these techniques over
the other? Does anyone have any other pointers?
