Norm Deno, who has done extensive experiments with seed germination
including using giberellic acid (though not, so far as I recall, on CP
seed) reported that in many of his trials the seeds germinated very
quickly, but the seedlings died, apparently also as a result of the
giberellic acid.
Some species were highly affected - extreme etiolation, etc. - some more
moderately. He wound up recommending GA treatment only for very hard to
germinate seed.
Do your notes imply that you are are having good success with GA without
side effects? If so, would you be willing to share your application
technique? (Concentrations, exposure times, etc.)
