I seamed to be having a few problems on Friday, I'm not sure
if this was caused due to maintenance being carried out at
my site or at the location that puts my e-mail onto
INTERNET. Hopefully my second try got out unscrambled, if it
didn't someone let me know and I'll send it again.

It's interesting to hear the macroceras/vulgaris debate
especially in the light of other European species with
obvious similarities to P.vulgaris. The situation has been
further complicated by the publication of a "new" species
from Italy a year or so ago, the proposed P.fiorii (I think
that this is the correct spelling) is again not a million
miles away from P.vulgaris.

I've only seen P.macroceras in flower in photos though I do
have a couple of small plants grown from seed that a
colleague in the UK gave me. He informs me that this seed
originated in Japan. I would be interested to hear opinions
on how these Japanese plants fit into the scheme of things.
I'd also love to hear from anyone out there who could supply
me with seed of the North American macroceras perhaps in
exchange for seed of one of the European species or some
thing else.
Regards.
