There are probably 20,000 species of ferns reported in the world. Some of
them are invasive and some of them are well behaved. I have mixed
plantings of some ferns (native to my area) along with my CPs and am not
having any serious problems. I think that you need to consult with your
nearest botanical garden staff or university botany researchers to find
out which ferns will be suitable for companion planting with your CPs
