I would have thought the basement would be fine. My Sarracenia are
in a greenhouse that maintains 40-50F in Winter and they do fine.
I guess your basement would be dark, but I can't see the plants
minding too much as they are not in growth.
I recommend growing a few from seed too - great fun and saves
paying someone else to do it for you.
