D. hamiltonii flower induction

Is there anybody who has experience in getting D.hamiltonii flowers? I read
in Slack's book that it needs a cold period to induce flower formation. How
long has this period to be? A few nights in the fridge will do?
I have two D. hamitonii plants for three years now, and there was never any
sign of flower formation.
I want some flowers to get some seed (and to see the flowers of course, they
have to be really big).
