Hello,
I recently joined this group and have enjoyed it thus far. I
currently have two Nepenthes species, two Sarrancenia species, and a
Sundew that was sold as "pipe cleaner fern". I'm interested in obtaining
more pitchers eventually and would like to try some in terrariums if
practical.
In an earlier message, I read of interest in CO2 production. Im currently
using a system in my freshwater plant tanks using yeast. I place a
mixture of 6cups warm water, 3/4 cup sugar, and one teaspoon Red Star
yeast (fast rising yeast "burn out" too fast) in a two liter bottle that
is connected by tubing to my tank. This set up introduces 1-2 bubbles a
second of Co2 into my tank for about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before it has to be
replaced. I've seen vastly improved plant growth since I started using
this system.
