In a recent issue of CPN Don Schnell says that some west coast growers
are using a Super Thrive solution instead of gibberillic acid for a 24
hour soak of hard-to-germinate seeds, such as B. gigantea.
Don says the concentration used is according to directions on the
bottle. The only problem is the recommendation strengths for the uses
listed varies by a factor of 100, and the strength for soaking seeds
is not mentioned.
So what concentration works for, say, B. gigantea and what germination
rate is achieved?
